LIVINGSTONE

   Where to stay

In Livingstone Town itself there are several hotels, guesthouses and backpackers establishments

  • Fawlty Towers  caters for international backpackers and passing motor vehicle travellers. It is right in the middle of Livingstone on the Mosi-o-Tunya Road in the Adventure Centre and has great inexpensive accommodation with a pool, an excellent restaurant, bar and pool tables.
     

  • Jolly Boys Backpackers: in the centre of Livingstone offer affordable thatched double and twin chalets, air conditioned ensuite rooms, dormitories and camping.  They have a swimming pool, pool table, restaurant, self catering kitchen and bar with DSTV.
     

  • Ngolide Lodge in Mosi-o-Tunya Rd, Livingstone offers comfortable accommodation in a convenient location, just 8 kms from the falls. A delightful thatched Lodge on the main road - excellent value for money.

  • The Wane Guest Lodge   offers all the comforts of home with luxurious touches. Close to the Centre of Livingstone Town, the lodge is well run and very affordable.
     

  • Zig Zag Bed & Breakfast is a family run establishment in central Livingstone offering good budget accommodation, motel style, with an excellent restaurant and the best cappuccinos in town.
     

  • Chanters Lodge  friendly, centrally located budget Lodge with roomy, air-conditioned en suite accommodation, bar, popular a la carte restaurant and swimming pool with lovely gardens. Handy for airport, town centre.
     

  • Bushfront Lodge very close to the falls, chalets and camping
     

  • Wasawange Lodge in Libala Drive which is also the road to the airport, has comfortable ethnically decorated chalets with all the conveniences of a modern hotel. 
     

  • The New Fairmount Hotel in Mosi o Tunya Rd and the Northwestern Hotel have standard air-conditioned rooms and a Casino and night club.

  There are several hotels and lodges in the Victoria Falls area and along the Zambezi, providing a wide range of accommodation.

  • Islands of Siankaba  an exclusive luxurious tented camp sleeping only 12 guests with a haute cuisine restaurant, all on two densely forested islands islands in the mighty Zambezi River  They are located 24 miles upstream from the Victoria Falls and just 30 miles from Chobe Game Park.
     

  • Stanley Safari Lodge A very exclusive lodge erected on a hill overlooking the spray of the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi river. The 7 rooms have a fabulous view and stunning sunsets. The 4 suites have their private plunge pool.
     

  • Tongabezi an exclusive and romantic lodge beautifully positioned on the banks of the river, with stunning views across the Zambezi.  It is home to just 22 guests in exquisite cottages and houses.  Personal valets and attention to detail complete an African dream, with emphasis on style, service and  atmosphere.
     

  • Taita Falcon Lodge is perched on the edge of the cliffs and has superb views of the spectacular Batoka gorge.

  • Sussi & Chuma An enchanting riverbank hideaway just 10 minutes upstream of the Victoria Falls. Hidden in the riverine forest is a private luxury tree house, built among the branches of a huge ebony. . It is not uncommon to see elephant, buffalo or rhinoceros passing below our walkways.
     

  • Zambezi Royal Chundu Fishing and Safari Lodge is further upstream of the Zambezi and has an excellent reputation for great fishing.
     

  • Chundukwa Tree Lodge Camp has wood and thatch chalets on stilts over the River and offers horse trails and canoeing.
     

  • A Sun International Resort is superbly positioned very close to the Falls. There are two hotels, The Zambezi Sun (3 star ) as well as The Royal Livingstone (5 star) Each of the hotels has its own design, specific character and identity. The needs of the widest possible range of clients are provided for, including families and corporate and conference groups, as well as top end individual travellers.
     

  • Natural Mystic Lodge  Thatched en suite chalets, riverfront bar and restaurant, curio shop, pool, secluded location on the banks of the zambezi
     

  • Thorntree has 9 en-suite, self contained rooms all with river views .

  • The River Club is a luxury colonial style lodge on the banks of the Zambezi
     

  • The Waterfront has a superb view of the river and offers both chalets, tents and camping.

... are comfortably accommodated at Jolly Boys, or  Fawlty Towers  in Livingstone town,  Maramba River Lodge on the way to the Falls, and then there's the magical Jungle Junction -  an island about 40 kms up-river. Highly recommended!  The Waterfront also has a great campsite and is very close to the Falls.
