ACCOMMODATION AROUND LAKE TANGANYIKA
Lake Tanganyika is the longest freshwater lake in the world and the second deepest. Its surface area spreads into Zambia, Congo DR, Burundi and Tanzania. Zambia can only claim around 7% of that surface area. It is also said that the lake holds around 18% of the world’s fresh water with around 26 rivers flowing into it! Another reason for its popularity is its water temperature which ranges from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius all- year round! It is an immense stretch of water which is home to more than 350 different species of fish, making it a perfect destination for an angling holiday. Visitors to the lake are usually interested in the variety of water-based activities the lake has to offer, the spectacular fishing and beautiful scenery.
