ACCOMMODATION AROUND LAKE TANGANYIKA

Lake Tanganyika is the longest freshwater lake in the world and the second deepest. Its surface area spreads into Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Tanzania with Zambia claiming around seven percent of the lake. It is also said that Tanganyika holds around 18 percent of the world’s fresh water with about 26 rivers flowing into it! Another reason for its popularity is its water temperature, which is about 25°C / 77°F year round! It is an immense stretch of water that is home to more than 350 different species of fish, making it a perfect destination for an angling holiday. Visitors are usually interested in the variety of water-based activities the lake has to offer, the spectacular fishing and beautiful scenery.
