ACCOMMODATION IN LIVINGSTONE

The town of Livingstone lies close to the famous Victoria Falls, making it the perfect base for exploring this natural wonder. It was once the capital of Northern Rhodesia before that title was passed onto Lusaka in 1935. Named after the famous Victorian missionary explorer, Dr David Livingstone, the town still retains much of its original charm and rustic merits. Its proximity to the allure of the Zambezi River as well as the hugely popular Falls make it a favoured attraction for tourists with a massive variety of outdoor activities to enjoy including white-water rafting, canoeing, horse riding, bungee jumping, boat cruises and quad-bike riding.

Livingstone accommodation includes luxurious hotels, sophisticated riverside lodges and villas, and more economical bed-and-breakfasts, guest houses, camping sites and backpackers’ hostels. Some are located within the town itself while there are quite a few options on the banks of the upper Zambezi River as well as close to Victoria Falls and on the edges of Batoka Gorge, on the Zambian side.
