WATERBERRY ZAMBEZI LODGE

Waterberry is a beautiful little lodge on the banks of the Zambezi opposite the Victoria Falls National Park. It’s a perfect place to recover from long international flights or early morning and late night safari activities.

It’s as famous for its excellent food and friendly, enthusiastic staff as it is for its luxurious gardens and excellent river landscape.

The thatched rooms are set around the lawns or on the riverbank. All rooms are en-suite with air conditioning, mosquito nets and fans and little terraces for resting, enjoying a quiet drink or private dinner.

Only half an hour’s drive from Livingstone International Airport, or two hours from Victoria Falls International Airport, the lodge is in perfect peace and quiet – with only the sound of frogs, lion and hyena to disturb the night, and birdsong during the day.

Guests eat, drink and swap stories in the restaurant, viewing lounge and sundeck overlooking the river. The swimming pool is big enough for refreshing exercise, or just sitting beside with a good book and a beer.

Sunset cruises are popular – imagine, just 24 hours from home, floating down the Zambezi, cool drink in hand, looking for elephant, hippo and crocodile on the riverbank and watching your first African sunset. Amazing.

Waterberry is just 40 minutes from Victoria Falls, the world-famous destination that draws people to Zambia – either at the start or finish of their Zambian safari adventure or as a short break to visit the world-famous waterfall.

Livingstone is the home of adventure – whether it’s simply walking the Falls and getting drenched in the spray from the millions of litres of water pouring over the Falls, getting soaked to the skin in the world’s most famous whitewater rapids or flying over the awesome sight in a helicopter or microlight.
