Green Safaris, operators of several top lodges in Zambia, have released their 2024 annual report with a breakdown of spending and support for conservation projects.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Six nursery schools were funded with scholarships for 60 secondary and 12 university students
  • Sustainable stoves were given to villagers to reduce charcoal dependency, creating carbon credits that offset almost all Green Safaris guest flights across Zambia
  • Farm-to-table initiatives that save 850 000 litres of water each year were instituted
  • Electric boats, game-drive vehicles and bikes are used for cleaner and quieter ways of exploring the bush
  • Women now comprise 60% of the management team – women have been shown to take conservation principles into their families and communities very strongly
