Following the success and popularity of the Numbu star bed at Mwamba Bush Camp, Shenton Safaris decided to build a dedicated sleepout at sister camp, Kaingo in South Luangwa National Park.

Named ‘River Song’ for its enviable position on the Luangwa river, this new double-storey star bed is set away from the main lodge in riverine woodland, allowing guests to drift off and awaken to the trickle of the water, the night sounds and morning chorus of birds.

The upper deck comprises the open-air bed with a mozzie net and a full private bathroom, including a romantic freestanding tub overlooking the river. The lower deck houses the living and dining space, with wonderful views of the sunset and sunrise.

A nearby armed scout and guide are always on call via a two-way radio.
