The Zambian government has launched the Livingstone Town Centre Development Programme.
The initiative will see 8.3 kilometres of roads upgraded, 976 streetlights installed and public spaces revitalised to transform Livingstone into a thriving tourism hub while helping to fuel job creation, community empowerment and inclusive growth.
With support from the World Bank, the town will be repositioned as more than a stopover destination for the Victoria Falls, and its potential to create benefits across Zambia and neighbouring countries in the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier area will be highlighted.
