Project Description

TOKA LEYA CAMP
Wilderness Toka Leya offers front-row seats to a daily wilderness spectacle on the banks of the Zambezi River. Toka Leya is a luxury riverside camp designed to help you unwind before or after your safari in the wild. Start with yoga or a quiet meditation on your private veranda overlooking the rushing Zambezi. Enjoy a soothing treatment at the spa, then spend the day lounging by the infinity pool, soaking in the views of the majestic river.
The airy and luxurious lounge, dining area, bar and pool deck, and 12 generous tented suites, are raised on wooden decks so as not to disturb the parade of wildlife. All offer wondrous views over the Zambezi River and the local hippos, crocs and elephants coming to drink. Three of the suites are family units with an extra bedroom.
The bar itself, clad in vibrant fabric features a bespoke Zambezi fish design and is the ideal setting for watching an unforgettable sunset. All of these are complemented by an infinity pool, a sundeck for sumptuous meals and a convivial fire deck with campfire for night-time gatherings. Bean bags add a splash of colour to the beach and offer the ultimate relaxation spot on the water’s edge.
Game drives and river cruises can be followed by a therapeutic treatment at our spa; tours of Victoria Falls, a nearby rural village and Livingstone town add cultural and historical diversity. Fishing, rhino tracking and plenty of adrenaline-filled activities add excitement to the experience.

What started as a passionate group of Botswana guides in 1983 is now a world-leading conservation and hospitality company, responsible for protecting and sharing over 6 million acres (2.3 million hectares) of wilderness across the planet. Wilderness focuses on conservation, community development and making our own operations more sustainable.
Wilderness exists to make sure the world will always have a version of its iconic wild places that is unfenced, untamed and unpredictable. It’s not our reputation as one of the first, or the largest, in the conservation tourism space that makes us Wilderness. Our 60+ camps in 8 African countries promise exclusive, private wild game viewing, unrivalled style, comfort and a range of activities for a full immersion in nature and local culture.
For four decades, the focus of our impact has never changed: to restore and help conserve invaluable wilderness and wildlife through high-end conservation tourism. We aim to empower and uplift local communities living in or near these iconic wild places. It’s a collective purpose, shared with our guests, our partners, donors, governments, local communities and researchers. Our ambitions are bold. Our model is responsible, sustainable, and inspiring.
We promise unrivalled comfort and exclusivity while staying true to the vibrant soul and spirit of each, unique destination. Our private game viewing areas have limits on guest numbers, meaning fewer vehicles and people, with more intimate and up-close encounters with wildlife in their natural habitat.
We set the bar high in the conservation and hospitality industry by investing a percentage of our direct revenue into wildlife, land protection, and community initiatives. We hope to double the wilderness area we currently conserve by 2030. So far we’ve operated exclusively in Africa, but that’s changing too, as we extend our custodial mission across the planet.
With four decades of experience, we are a world-leading conservation tourism operator, offering impactful travel in a range of the finest destinations in Africa. Each of our wild spaces places guests in the heart of the true wilderness, offering whole different worlds of environments, habitats, sights, and sounds to be discovered.
