Project Description
THREE RIVERS CAMP
Three Rivers Camp is located on the confluence of the Luangwa River, the Kapamba River and the Lusangazi River and borders the South Luangwa National Park. The new camp features 5 elegantly decorated tent with a spacious bedroom and an en-suite semi-open bathroom. Each tent has its own private elevated deck with day beds which are made up at night as star beds, so guests can choose to sleep inside the tent or outside under the stars. The star bed platform is directly connected to the tent by a safe walkway.
The bathroom offers the choice of an indoor or an outdoor shower. Stellar dining is served al fresco on the extensive deck in the main lounge. Activities at the camp include game drive and bush walks. A stay at Three Rivers is best combined with an extended stay at Kafunta River Lodge.

Kafunta Safaris is an owner-run safari business and the owners, Ron & Anke Cowan, have been in the Zambian safari industry for more than 25 years. Kafunta River Lodge was opened in 1998 and is the Cowan’s home.
Many of the staff who helped to build the lodge were trained in other roles and still work at Kafunta River Lodge or one of our satellite camps Three Rivers Camp and Island Bush Camp as part of the Kafunta team. Today, Kafunta Safaris employs 40 to 70 staff.
Kafunta Safaris prides itself on providing a warm welcome and personalised service to our guests. We pay attention to the details so that our guests can relax and enjoy their dream African safari. Kafunta Safaris recognises the importance of responsible tourism and the need to protect this unique ecosystem and support the community.
Kafunta Safaris supports three local programs: Conservation South Luangwa, a non-profit community-based organisation committed to conservation; Project Luangwa, a charity set up to help local communities to improve their long-term economic prospects; and Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust, an NGO focused on teaching local youth about the importance of wildlife and conservation.
