KAFUNTA RIVER LODGE
Overlooking a game-rich floodplain adjacent to the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park, Kafunta River Lodge is one of the best wildlife viewing parks in Africa. From the central lounge and dining area, shaded by an ancient mango tree, guests can enjoy nature and the wildlife in comfort. Guests can relax around the campfire and share stories about their game drives or enjoy a candlelit meal and refreshing drink on the spacious wooden deck.
The lodge consists of 8 private chalets on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs and 2 luxury suites which feature balconies with panoramic views and luxurious bathrooms. The tastefully decorated and comfortable chalets and suites all have verandas facing the floodplain where guests can experience the view in private.
Kafunta River Lodge has its own pontoon which allows guests to cross the river to the more remote areas of the park, away from other tourists. Our highly qualified safari guides are intimately familiar with the park and have extensive knowledge of the African flora and fauna which they will share with you on an exciting game drive or walking safari.
Kafunta River Lodge has a beautiful infinity pool and also features a unique natural hot spring, both complete with magnificent views over the plains and river: a lovely way to relax after brunch or to end an eventful day.
New additions to the lodge are the Kafunta wellness hideout, where guest can enjoy massages and natural spa treatments in privacy, and a wildlife hides under the deck for excellent photographic opportunities. A small gym house is also available.
