Named after legendary guide Jacob Shawa, Shawa Luangwa is a small eco camp in the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa National Park, where the BBC One documentary Kingdom was filmed over five years.
The camp had opened two new tents to help cope with the demand for being in such an unspoilt part of the park. Simple but practical, the canvas walls roll up for expansive views of the Luangwa river and treeline. Elevated platforms allow wildlife to pass underneath and for beds to catch cooling breezes. Sunken bathtubs are an idyllic place to watch the sunset before heading for a delicious dinner under the stars.
Shawa Luangwa promises a laidback safari in rustic comfort. The camp has several deals and specials for 2026 – please click here for more information.
