THE MOORINGS CAMPSITE

The Moorings Campsite is situated on a fully functioning dry land farm 10km’s North of Monze on the Great North road between Lusaka and Livingstone. We are an ideal stopover on your journey in either direction. Our campsites are set amidst shady trees in quiet surrounds. Each campsite has its own thatched katenga with an electricity point and water point. We also have 2 chalets for the tent weary traveller! Enjoy a cold beer and a hot meal in our bar and dining area and a hot shower in our clean ablutions. Our staff are renowned for their friendliness and helpfulness. Enjoy a spot of bird watching or take walks on the farm. Visit the Malambo Women’s Centre where farm workers create fabric items for sale.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Moorings Farm was established in the early 1900’s and a few of the farm buildings show this. The Moorings Campsite was started around 2005 as Tom and Thea Savory saw the need for a quiet clean spot for travellers between Botswana, Namibia and Zambia. The Moorings Campsite started off with just camping facilities and chalets were added a few years later.
