MCBRIDES’ CAMPSITE

McBrides’Camp is situated in the heart of Kafue National Park, in the Central Province, our camp is nestled in an area renowned for its subtropical summers, pleasant winters, and a remarkable array of landscapes and ecosystems. Unique to our area are 3 natural cold spring and one warm spring which is a prime hotspot to cool off in summer.

Camping:

In addition to our main camp amenities, we also offer a campsite tailored for self-drive safari guests, providing the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the wilderness.

Our campsite features four designated sites, each offering its own unique experience. Some campsites face the river, allowing you to wake up to the soothing sounds of flowing water and breathtaking views. Others are nestled under the shade of beautiful trees, offering a tranquil setting with panoramic views of the dambo.

For your convenience, the campsite is equipped with three ablution blocks, ensuring comfort and hygiene during your stay. These facilities include flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, and basins for your convenience.

Each campsite is furnished with a picnic table, providing a perfect spot for outdoor dining amidst nature’s splendor. Additionally, you’ll find a lapa, where you can seek shelter from the sun or gather with fellow travelers. A braai with a grid is also available, allowing you to indulge in the time-honored tradition of outdoor cooking. Guests are encouraged to bring their own camping equipment to ensure a comfortable stay tailored to their needs.

The campsite is conveniently located approximately 1 km from the main camp, providing easy access to additional amenities and activities while still offering a secluded retreat in the heart of the wilderness. Sit back and enjoy the serenity and our frequent visitors at the campsite like Elephants, hippo’s, monkey’s, bushbuck, leopard and lions.

Camping fees are $30 per person per night including, service charge, vat, tourism levy.
Camping levy’s, Park fees and Vehicle entry fees are excluded from our nightly rates.

Light Glamping:

For the people who want to camp, but don’t have their own tent. We offer safari tents for rent, inclusive of a stretcher, matrass and linen. Additional rental fees apply.

Since 2023, the legacy of Mc Brides’ Camp lives on as new management gracefully assumes the reins from the visionary founders, Chris and Charlotte. With utmost respect for their remarkable achievements, we strive to carry forward their incredible work, infusing it with a touch of modernity, while honouring the essence that made Mc Brides’ Camp a legendary destination in Kafue National Park.

McBride’s main accommodation is provided by seven private thatched chalets, each with en-suite bathrooms. Each chalet has a unique view, either of the river or on the dambo. A comfortable veranda allows one to view the many species of birds and wildlife from the chalet. Besides a main camp McBride’s Camp offers spacious campsites equipped with all the amenities one could need.
