Supper under the stars at Croc’s Nest

Green season’s camp closures are traditionally a time for maintenance and refurbishments to be done. This year is no different at Flatdogs Camp in South Luangwa National Park where the team is busy rebuilding the Crocodile Nest private villa. Overlooking the Luangwa river, the Croc’s Nest was built a decade ago as a two-bedroom house with a popular third bedroom added in 2025.

This season the builders will be working with Protarp to create a new external tent structure to ensure guests are comfortable, cool and dry at all times. The interiors will also be redesigned and upgraded: expect new materials, liners and flooring when the camp reopens.

The Crocodile Nest has three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a private pool, a lounge, Wi-Fi and mains electricity. It takes children from six years and – best of all for parents – you can radio in your order off the menu and the staff will deliver your meals ‘room service’ style so you don’t have to miss a minute of swimming or game watching!
