Visitors to Mwamba Camp in South Luangwa National Park have yet another reason to enjoy their stay: a new sleepout platform that puts you in the heart of the savannah with only the moon, stars and night sounds as company.

The Numbu Star Bed features an unusual double-storey design. All built on stilts for safety, the lower level comprises the fire pit and dining area for sundowners, dinner and nightcaps. The upper level has a full double bed, a flush loo and basin, and the cherry on top: a freestanding bathtub with incredible views.

Numbu is just a 15-minute drive away from camp, far enough to feel ‘remote’ but close enough to feel secure. A guide is always nearby but out of sight, and available instantly by two-way radio.
