NKONZI CAMP

Hidden deep inside the South Luangwa National Park, Nkonzi Camp offers 4 en-suite safari tents with a comfortable, rustic feel, and a focus on personalised service. Each tent comprises wooden framed beds, white cotton bed linens, a small seating area and solar lighting.

The open-air en-suites have hot water bucket showers and flush toilets. The camp overlooks the seasonal white sand Mushilashi River and is surrounded by pristine savannah woodland. Meals are eaten together underneath a stand of shady mature trees, or in the dry riverbed beneath the African night sky.

The camp is run by a small but dedicated team. All meals are prepared on-site from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The philosophy here champions a back-to-nature safari experience with excellent guiding and all the comforts of an authentic African bush camp, without the 5-star luxury price tag.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Nkonzi Camp is owned and operated by Gavin Opie, a highly experienced tour leader and private safari guide. Gavin has lived in Zambia for over twenty years and leads safari activities himself as well as hosting guests.

Walking safaris are a speciality of the camp. Game drives, especially the popular 06:00-20:00 all-day drive, also give guests a fantastic opportunity to spot the Luangwa’s famous wildlife.

Nkonzi Camp’s location means that drives can easily access the well-known Mfuwe bridge area of the national park, as well as the more remote northerly sections. The Mushilashi-Luwi area in which the camp is situated also offers outstanding game viewing opportunities.

The camp offers a range of set-departure all-inclusive safari itineraries or a per person per night rate.
