The implementation of a Priority Support Plan for the protection and development of Kafue National Park was made official when the Government of Zambia and African Parks signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last month (4 February 2021).
According to African Parks’ official website, the plan aims to boost financial and technical support for the park with US$3 million over a 12 month period. This comes as great news for the conservation and protection of one of Africa’s largest parks.
“Minister of Tourism and Arts Honourable, Hon. Ronald K. Chitotela, said the MoU would help Zambia to realize the potential of the Kafue National Park which is Zambia’s prime tourist destination and an internationally renowned wildlife sanctuary.”
