Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi Lodge was started in the early 1990s and now comprises a trio of accommodation options, on the Zambezi River, upstream of Victoria Falls in Zambia: An eponymous Zambezi River fronted 36-bed lodge, the eco-friendly grid-independent and very exclusive, 10-bed Sindabezi Island in the middle of the Zambezi and eight-bed, riverside, private Tangala House.

Tongabezi is the ultimate destination for romance – if you have a special occasion to celebrate, the entire team will be at your service to ensure the quintessential wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary – but the real beauty of the Tongabezi experience lies in its ability to set the scene and inspire a little magical romance in everyone… no occasion necessary!

Tongabezi is also entrusted with the management of Livingstone Island (A UNESCO World Heritage site) at the top of Victoria Falls where guests can enjoy a swim in one of earth’s most spectacular infinity pools.

In addition various activities are run and managed by the Tongabezi team for guests to enjoy as part of their all-inclusive stay.
Canoeing on the Zambezi, Island Lunch, Sampan floating candlelit dinner, Visit to Mukuni Park, Sunrise and sunset boating, Introduction to Simonga Village, Visit to Victoria Falls, Guided bush walks, Museum Tour, Fishing, Game Viewing Drives and Maramba Market visit
Tongabezi consistently wins international awards for various aspects of the business including its environmental, conservation and cultural introduction efforts, the educational upliftment it champions in the local community and the quality of the leisure product and activities it offers.

The River Cottages (5)
Close-fronted with gauze netting in the windows, these rooms are better suited to guests who feel nervous about sleeping in open fronted rooms, but still wish to listen to the sounds of the bush at night.

Sindabezi Island

Chalets(4)
Open-sided, thatched chalets allow guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience.
