The fully inclusive Track and Trail South Luangwa trip offers you the opportunity to explore the beautiful South Luangwa National Park – providing you with an unforgettable experience at an affordable rate.

Luangwa is renowned for its density of wildlife and game viewing is always good year-round. Enjoy four nights at Track and Trail River Camp, located just outside the South Luangwa National Park gate in the Mfuwe area. The camp is perfectly positioned on the South Luangwa River, while you spend your nights overlooking the National Park from the comfort of your chalets.

Enjoy morning, afternoon and night game drives in the park, where the search for lions, leopards, elephants, giraffe and other exciting animals can begin.

  Day 1 – 4:Track and Trail River Camp, South Luangwa National Park

On your arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be collected by a representative from Track and Trail River Camp, and transferred to your accommodation. On arrival – you can check-in and relax before heading out on your evening game drive.

Each morning will start off with an early morning safari after tea and coffee, getting you ready to fully experience your surroundings. You’ll always be accompanied by a trained, professional and passionate guide, who will teach you all about Luangwa valley’s fascinating birdlife, fauna and flora.

After you’ve done all your spotting for the morning – you will return to camp for brunch, and then spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at your own leisure. Walking safaris are available in the drier months from June to October.

Every evening is completed with an evening game drive – looking for nocturnal animals like lion, leopard, hyena, mongoose, owl, civet, bush baby and genet. You will even stop along the route to watch the beautiful African sunset, while having a drink and a snack. Once dusk sets in and it’s almost dark – the safari will continue.

Your best game viewing is generally during the drier months of June – October when most of the wildlife tends to remain closer to the water however wildlife can be viewed all year round it’s just a little more dispersed.

  Day 5: Departure

After spending four nights in this wildlife haven you will enjoy a final breakfast and then be transferred back to Mfuwe Airport for your return flight to Lusaka International Airport.

  Track and Trail River Camp, South Luangwa National Park

South Luangwa National Park is true wildlife sanctuary also known as the “Valley of the Leopards” and “the cradle of African walking safaris.”

The Track and Trail River Camp offers a wide variety in accommodation, with a rustic theme – making it feel like a simple safari escape. With a total of nine chalets, the camp provides you with four double-storey chalets, two secluded en-suite safari tents and three en-suite safari tents at riverfront – with elevated platforms for those seeking a bit of adventure.

You can enjoy your time at the Lime Tree Lounge bar and dining area which offers panoramic views, or at the centrally located swimming pool where you can spy hippo and crocodile in the river.


All prices are subject to change due to availability, season, number of guests and special requests.

It is advised that guests take out the necessary travel insurance to cover any costs of lost baggage, flight cancellations or curtailment. Navigate Africa Safaris cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by airlines.

It is compulsory for guests to have comprehensive medical insurance to cover them for any medical costs that may result in injuries or illnesses.

All guests travelling with Navigate Africa Safaris are covered for emergency evacuation. Should there be a situation where you are ill or injured and the conditions are life threatening – we will arrange an emergency evacuation for you.
