Spend the first 5 nights at Royal Zambezi Lodge located just outside the Lower Zambezi National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River. Enjoy daily game drives in the park, try your hand at some tiger fishing, increase your adrenaline levels by getting up close to wildlife in a guided canoe trip, or enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the river.
It’s common to spot leopards perched in the trees on the edge of the river banks, elephant and buffalo in large numbers drinking from the river, or even elephant swimming across the river in front of you to get to a lush island. The birdlife is excellent with over 300 species of birds including many Zambezian specials.
After 5 nights in the Lower Zambezi, you will fly via commercial charter plane to Livingstone where you will spend 3 nights at the 4-star Avani Victoria Falls Resort. The resort is conveniently located right next to the Victoria Falls, with a direct access gate at the back of the property, so that you can visit the falls as many times as you like.
Activities on offer include river cruises, helicopter and microlight flights over the falls, game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and for the adrenalin seekers – you can enjoy white water rafting, bungee jumping and gorge swinging.

Day 1 – 6: Royal Zambezi Lodge, Lower Zambezi
After flying to Lusaka you will board a domestic flight to the Lower Zambezi – an extremely scenic flight over the Lower Zambezi escarpment which takes approximately 30 minutes. On arrival at Royal Airstrip, you will be met by a representative from Royal Zambezi Lodge who will transfer you to the lodge.
Set on a 200-hectare private concession with 3.5 kilometres of private river-frontage and no fences, Royal Zambezi Lodge is a choice destination for wildlife lovers, fishermen, nature enthusiasts, birders and photographers.
Once in camp – you will be treated to two activities per day, which can include game drives, fishing, river safaris, bush walks, mountain hikes, canoe safari, and cultural village tours, or you can just stay in camp, spend time relaxing by the main pool, bar, or in the library, making the most of the spa, or simply enjoying your suite.

Day 6 – 9: AVANI Victoria Falls Resort, Livingstone
You will head out early to the Royal Airstrip for your connecting flight back to Lusaka before catching a connecting flight to Livingstone. From here you’ll be the transferred to the Avani Victoria Falls Resort, which is the closest accommodation to the falls that you can possibly get.
With the iconic Victoria falls at your doorstep, you can walk to the falls from your hotel as there is a private entrance at the back of the property giving you direct access to the Victoria Falls, as many times a day as you wish.
Spend the days at your leisure visiting the Victoria Falls, the local museum and exploring the local markets in Livingstone. Livingstone is Zambia’s adventure capital and there is a range of activities to be enjoyed. These include Zambezi river cruises, microlight and helicopter flights over the Victoria Falls, white water rafting in the Batoka Gorge, canoeing, fishing, walking safaris, and game drives.

Day 9: Departure
On your final day after breakfast and a last quick visit to the falls if there is a time you will check out of the hotel, be transferred to Livingstone Airport, and catch your return flight back home.

Royal Zambezi Lodge is a privately owned five-star safari lodge located in the Chiawa Game Management Area on the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park.
