THE VICTORIA FALLS

WHERE TO STAY

There are several hotels and lodges in the Victoria Falls areas providing a wide range of accommodation.

  • Taita Falcon Lodge nestles high up on the cliffs of Batoka Gorge and has spectacular views of the Zambezi winding its way through the gorge. Watch the rafters surf the rapids.

  • Tongabezi an exclusive and romantic lodge beautifully positioned on the banks of the river, with stunning views across the Zambezi.  It is home to just 22 guests in cottages and houses.  Personal valets and attention to detail complete an African dream, with emphasis on style, service and  atmosphere.

  • Ngolide Lodge in Mosi-o-Tunya Rd, Livingstone offers comfortable, affordable accommodation in a convenient location, just 8 kms from the falls.

  • Fawlty Towers is right in the middle of Livingstone on the Mosi-o-Tunya Road in the Adventure Centre and has great inexpensive accommodation with a pool.

  • Sussi & Chuma An enchanting riverbank hideaway just 10 minutes upstream of the Victoria Falls. Hidden in the riverine forest is a private luxury tree house, built among the branches of a huge ebony. . It is not uncommon to see elephant, buffalo or rhinoceros passing below our walkways.

  •  Zambezi Royal Chundu Fishing and Safari Lodge is further up river is offering riverfront chalets and 3 tree houses.

  • A new Sun International Resort has opened very close to the Falls. There are two hotels, The Zambezi Sun (3 star hotel) as well as The Royal Livingstone (5 star hotel). Each of the hotels has its own design, specific character and identity. The needs of the widest possible range of clients are provided for, including families and corporate and conference groups, as well as top end individual travellers.

  • For something a little different, try Jungle Junction. Spend a few nights on a magical jungle island right in the middle of the Zambezi. They'll take you over to the island in a traditional makoro and give you a secluded and comfortable bed to camp down for the night. Wander around the lush island and find one of the many isolated hammocks to kick back and soak up the therapeutic rhythm of this great river.

All these establishments can arrange for any activities in the Victoria Falls area.

For people wanting to camp away from the noise, hustle and bustle of Victoria Falls and Livingstone - enjoy your own private camp site in nature at Peregrine's Bush Camp on the cliffs of Batoka Gorge.  There are three campsites and each has it's own private ablution with hot showers, beautiful views, nature and bird walks and hiking trails in and around the Batoka Gorge.  You do need your own vehicle and equipment since there is no shop or supplies available at the camp.
