Tena Tena Camp is a special camp synonymous with Robin Pope Safaris as it was the first camp established by Robin, and has won the hearts of many nature-lovers of the years.
True to its name, Tena Tena Camp provides visitors with a temporary home; however, with a dash of luxury and an abundance of comfort. Sandwiched between the banks of the Luangwa River and a number of lagoons, this two-tiered tented camp provides guests with breathtaking views from their private verandahs.
A large marquee, hung from the grove of Mahogany trees, provides the main camp area where guests can sit back and relax in comfort, watching the game visit the river below. On the banks of the river, you are invited to enjoy the magnificent African sunset, whilst sipping sundowners and enjoying a meal to the sounds of the African bush.
Tena Tena is an intimate camp, accommodating a maximum of ten guests at a time. Accommodation is provided by five spacious tents, each positioned to maximize on the exquisite views. Each tent has its own private verandah, dressing room and a large open air shower and outdoor bathroom. The camps is powered entirely by solar power with a back-up generator for cloudy days.
Tena Tena Camp provides a number of activities for guests to enjoy; including, game drives and walks, as well as a cultural visit to the near-by Kawaza Village.
