Tafika Camp, Remote Africa Safaris
Tafika Camp is located on the northern boundary of the Nsefu sector, where the South Luangwa National Park straddles the Luangwa River. The camp boasts a spectacular vista across the river where hippos and crocodiles wallow on sand bars, water birds go about their daily business and animals come down to drink.
Tafika comprises 6 chalets – 4 twin chalets with two double beds in each, one honeymoon suite with a king size bed and a romantic double outdoor shower and a two roomed family chalet accommodating 4 people (one king bed and two doubles). All chalets are fashioned from natural materials and have en-suite facilities with showers open to the starry skies. Having a maximum of 14 guests the camp provides an intimate setting where guests can enjoy highly personalised care.
The cuisine is excellent and is supplemented by fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. The kitchen is continuously complimented for its delicious meals and home-made bread.
Tafika offers a wide range of activities including walking safaris, mountain biking, day and night game drives and game viewing from hides (seasonal). Mountain biking offers a great opportunity to get some exercise and traverse the trails used by many local cyclists. Being in a remote location, one will seldom see another vehicle during excursions. For a cultural experience one may visit the local school and village, Mkasanga.
Tafika has been the Coppingers’ home for over 20 years and thus exudes a friendly and homely atmosphere.
