The Lake Tanganyika Explorer is the perfect opportunity to explore Lake Tanganyika at your own pace and leisure. The Ndole Bay lodge is built on a forested slope ending in their own secluded and private beach. Discreetly set amongst lush tropical gardens and towering fig trees, the lodge is virtually invisible to the outside world.
Lake Tanganyika – one of the world’s longest and deepest lakes – sits in the heart of the rift valley in Northern Zambia, and boasts pristine, warm, crystal clear waters. The lake plays host to more than 350 different species of fish and is well known for aquarium fish exports and excellent freshwater-angling.
Tanganyika fish is internationally regarded as being among the finest eating anywhere. In these waters you can find five indigenous species of lates (perch), one of which – lates angustifrons – can grow up to 50 kilograms! Other species include nkupi, tigerfish, lake salmon, bream, chichlid, trout, vundoo, frontosa, mbilli and even more.
