What to do around Lake Bangweulu
Bangweulu is not officially a national park, but because the floodplains attract huge herds of lechwe and other wildlife the area provides a great safari for those willing to make the effort to get there. Once there it is best to ask around for a guide and stick to the tracks so as not to cause damage to the soils by driving anywhere across the plains. Most people who come here are keen to spot the rare Shoebill stork. In the wet season the camps are inaccessible.
