Description

Bilimungwe is all about wood, from the huge mahogany tree that forms the centrepiece of the central lounge and dining area, to the exquisitely carved, and all locally-made, bowls, basins, and shelves you’ll find in the lounge and the chalets.

Each of Bilimungwe’s four chalets overlooks a waterhole, and the birds and animals in and around camp never fail to delight guests. You’ll be tempted to forgo game drives just to sit on your veranda to see what comes to visit!

Walking safaris are the normal morning activity at Bilimungwe, with a game drive in the afternoon/evening.

About the company

Bilimungwe Bushcamp is part of The Bushcamp Company, which operates Mfuwe Lodge and six Bushcamps, all located within South Luangwa National Park. The company was founded in the early 2000s when Andy Hogg and Andrea Bizzaro combined their separate holdings and formed a partnership. Starting with the Lodge and two Bushcamps, they added Bushcamps over the years. Andrea moved back to Malawi a few years ago, but Andy remains Managing Director.
