Busanga Bush Camp lies in the heart of the Busanga Plains, a vast mosaic of expansive, grassy seasonal floodplains that extends to the horizon. The camp, nestled in a vegetated island of fig trees, can accommodate eight guests in four well-appointed tents. The lounge area is under canvas looking out over the plains; breakfast is often served here to take in the view of herds of lechwe and puku. The dining area lies under the shady canopy of a majestic tree from which an unusual lantern chandelier hangs, romantically lighting up dinner; most meals are served in the open air.
Hippo Lodge a small vintage-style stone built camp with four uniquely built private chalets and two rustic safari tents with each with open air stone bathrooms. Days can be spent game-viewing on foot, by vehicle or boat, fishing the Kafue hot spots, ticking away at that bird list, unwinding with a sundowner in a natural hot spring, devouring delicious bush meals on idyllic islands in the Kafue River, or catching that intensely beautiful sunset. Gourmet bush cuisine is prepared by a trained chef and served in an open dining room over looking the river. Adjacent to the dining room is a fully stocked bar and swimming pool. There's a honeymoon house, a family house and twin bed chalets.

Kapinga Bush Camp Situated in the north-west corner of the Busanga Plains, Kapinga Camp lies on the edge of a tree island overlooking the plains. The camp is shaded by a canopy of majestic trees and is set on raised wooden platforms to enhance the panoramic view across the plains. Day and night game drives and walking safaris take place on and around the plains, where the wealth of antelope is a big attraction for predators. A birder’s special, the Böhm’s Bee-eater, can be seen in the parking area of the camp!

Konkamoya Camp Situated on a promontory on the south-western shore of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, Owned by Cooke’s safaris, the camp is reached by following the rough lakeside track that leads off the main road from Itezhi-Tezhi to Ngoma. This is a secluded and totally isolated location that is managed by the highly experienced owners, dedicated to wildlife viewing and exploration around Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. Fishing and wildlife viewing can also be arranged by boat on the Lake. Watching the larger animals on the lakeshore is a fantastic way to spend your time here.
Leopard Lodge is a secluded family run game lodge on the banks of the Kafue River in a game management area bordering the Kafue National Park.
Game viewing is excellent which can be seen on game drives and walks as well as by boat from the river. Elephants, lions and leopards are common visitors at this luxury lodge which offers total solitude in the bush. Fishing and birding is great and a number of rarely seen bird species are common sightings. The lodge is eco-friendly and committed to the conservation and protection of the environment.
Lufupa River Camp is situated in the centre of the northern sector of Kafue National Park, not far downstream of the confluence of the Lufupa and Kafue rivers. Accommodation is in four traditional thatch and brick chalets with en-suite facilities and veranda out front overlooking the Kafue River and the Kafwala Rapids. The area around Lufupa Bush Camp is private and seldom will other vehicles be encountered. Resident prides of lion and leopard, less occasionally wild dogs follow the plains game – zebra, buffalo, roan, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, sable, kudu and impala.
Mayukuyuku Camp is situated in the Southern end of the North Section of the Park on the banks of the Kafue River, just three and a half hours drive from Lusaka. Open all year, it offers camping, self catering or full board in en-suite, tented accommodation. With breathtaking views in all directions, the camp is adjacent to rapids and a number of small islands. This part of the Park has a wide variety of mammal species and the river here is home to Clawless Otters, Hippos, Crocodiles and a wide variety of birds including the rare African Finfoot. Good fishing spots and boat launching is also possible. Activities include early morning and evening game drives and short walking safaris. 
McBrides Camp is situated on the East Bank of the wonderful meandering Kafue River. It specialises in walks and walking safaris,boat drifts, exploring the river banks, fishing, and the birding is exceptional. This rustic camp has been built around all the original animals paths, so one shares the camp with the animals. Each thatched chalet has an en-suite bathroom, with a comfortable veranda from which to watch the prolific bird life and animals that wander past. Chris and Charlotte McBride, your hosts, have spent most of their lives in the bush. Chris McBride is an avid student of wildlife and after doing a thesis on lions for an MSc degree, he wrote the well respected books, Liontide and the White Lions of Timbavati. Chris and Charlotte will accompany you on walks, stopping, listening, ambling, watching in the wilderness of this remote and beautiful area.
Mukambi Safari Lodge is situated perfectly on the banks of the Kafue River. It is one of the closer camps to reach from Lusaka by road - an easy three and a half hour drive on good tar road. It has a welcoming Zambian feel and a blissfully quiet setting , and with plenty of wildlife interest even in camp. 9 beautifully appointed and furnished chalets overlook the Kafue River. The cuisine is exceptional and the game viewing is hard to beat, especially in the dryer months. They offer walking safaris, game drives, river cruises and fishing excursions. Keep your eyes out for the resident Hippo, Basil! The lodge has a seasonal bush camp on the Busanga Plains’ which is well worth a visit! (see Mukambi Plains’ Camp).
Mukambi Plains’ Camp
This authentic tented safari camp is located on the Busanga Plain on a magnificent fig tree island. Accommodation is in spacious, en suite, safari tents that are set out discreetly, blending unobtrusively into the palm trees which abound the island each has an uninterrupted view of the Plains. The main sitting and dining tent is raised on wooden decking above the flood line and has fine views across the plains. Big herds of Lechwe feed here and it is not unusual to witness Lions hunting. The Camp is only accessible from July to the end of October and has been rated as one of Zambia’s most remote and most attractive spots. It brings comfort to the wilderness; the guides are well trained and vastly experienced and all arrangements are professionally organized with knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Musanza Tented Camp is located deep inside the wildlife haven of the Busanga Plains. Accommodation consists of six well-appointed tents with wall-to-wall views of the spectacular Lufupa River. The simple bush style of this camp creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy dinner under a canopy of stars around a campfire.
Musungwa Lodge is set on the shores of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi with a breathtaking view, accessible throughout the year from Lusaka or Livingstone. Simple en-suite accommodation. Game viewing by vehicle, boat or foot. Leisure activities include squash, tennis, a swimming pool, a library and a tree trail.
Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp – Located in the isolated and seldom visited southern sector of the park, known for its rich diversity of habitat and variety of species, this small and intimate lodge offers an excellent base from which to explore this fascinating area. The area has particularly healthy populations of Cheetah and Wild Dog as well as antelope species such as Roan and Sable. Birding is phenomenal, with excellent opportunities to see such birds as the endemic Black-cheeked Lovebird 
Puku Pan has stylish thatched cottages on the banks of the Kafue River and offer game drives, boating trips, fishing and bush walks. An airstrip nearby facilitates a 50 minute charter flight from Lusaka.
Shumba Bush Camp. Situated in the centre of the Busanga Plains close to permanent water and within easy access of the teeming floodplains. Shumba is named after a favourite species in the area: prides of lion sometimes up to 20 strong! Viewing of game species is possible from the comfort of the tent or main deck, while the camp’s fig trees ensure both shade and constant bird activity.
Busanga Safaris began arranging safaris in the Kafue 10 years ago and have become synonymous with this remote area. As well as arranging safaris which get the most from a safari to the Kafue. Tyrone Mckeith of Busanga Safaris also manages the Busanga Plains Camp with a passion for the Kafue and it's amazingly varied wildlife.
There is a good airstrip at Moshi, currently used by several of the operators in the area.
